On this page I will tell something about the places in the Yangshuo area. Of course we can visit these places when you decide to hire me as a guide.
First I will tell some background information about Yangshuo.
Yangshuo is the starting point for a lot of different excursions to different locations.
About Yangshuo
Submitted by ZhangFengDi on Fri, 10/09/2009 - 02:33Yangshuo is probably one of the most beautiful places in China and, if you have the time, a necessary spot to visit on any China holiday. It's surrounded by karst peaks and on one side it is being bordered by the li river (li jiang). It is located in the north-eastern part of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and it is about 70 km (40 miles) south of Guilin. It has a population of about 300.000 people spread out over the Yangshuo region.The people that live here are the Han chinese but also different ethnic groups such as Zhuang, Yao and the Hui.
The weather in Yangshuo is subtropical, with an annual average of about 19 C (66 F). So on overall Yangshuo is a perfect place to visit all year round. However the best times are Spring and Autumn, Summer being very hot and the Winter just a little cool.
Yangshuo China has a history going back 1400 years in which the people here have created their own distinct culture, such as the long drum dance, the Cai Diao opera, and dragon and lion dances. In addition to the fabulous natural scenery, garden relics, historical architecture, ancient bridges, stone carvings, this place has it all.
It is easy to access Yangshuo from Guilin by bus or boat from nearby Guilin. Yangshuo is nowadays a popular place for backpackers.
About the Li River
Submitted by ZhangFengDi on Fri, 10/09/2009 - 02:33The Li river or Li Jiang is the river in the Yangshuo area. It originates in the Mao'er mountains in Xing'an and flows through Guilin, Xingping and Yangshuo. When people think of the Li river, they often think of Cormorant fishing which is still a big tourist attraction.
Along 100km the li river is being surrounded by karst peaks rising to the sky. Often the scenery is breathtaking. Must see places along the li river are:
* Reed-Flute Rock: a limestone cave with a large number of stalactites, stalagmites, stalacto-stalagmites, rocky curtains, and cave corals. Situated close to Guilin.
* Seven-Star Park: the largest park in Guilin.
Mountain of Splendid Hues: a mountain consisting of many layers of variously colored rocks. Situated close to Guilin
* Elephant-Trunk Hill: a hill that looks like a giant elephant drinking water with its trunk. It is symbol of the city of Guilin.
* Moon hill: A hill with a natural arch through it. It is located a few kilometers outside Yangshuo
Nine-Horse Fressco Hill. Located just a little outside Xingping
